As the world celebrates Earth Day, it is important to reflect on the role that fashion plays in shaping the future of our planet. While the fashion industry has long been associated with environmental and social challenges, there is a growing movement towards sustainable fashion that promises to make a positive impact on the planet and its people. These are our predictions for a more sustainable fashion future.

1. Caring for and repairing your clothes will be easier than ever before.

Caring for and repairing clothes is a critical aspect of a sustainable fashion future. According to a report by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, extending the life of a garment by nine months can reduce its environmental impact by 20-30%. Repair and care is already on the mind’s of consumers, a survey by GlobalWebIndex found that 45% of consumers in the UK, US, and China are now actively seeking out ways to make their clothing last longer.

We predict care and repair will become increasingly accessible, you’ll be able to book a range of clothes care services on your phone from the comfort of your home! Oh wait, you can already do that with our app, browse our range of on demand clothes care via the ‘Services’ tab of our app or book here

2. Brands and retailers will prioritise care and repair, offering it to their customers.

We predict brands will follow in the footsteps of Zalando and Hugo Boss, offering their customers care and repair services, powered by Save Your Wardrobe!

Offering customers care and repair services can increase customer loyalty by 20% as well as decreasing the rates of returns and unlocking circular revenue streams! What’s not to love? We know circularity is the future and we’re here to make it happen for brands, consumers, and service providers globally!

3. Rewearing will be the coolest trend in fashion!

Buying an outfit for the weekend will be a thing of the past! Rewearing items in new and creative ways will be super chic, everyone will use our new outfit collage feature to put together outfits in their digital wardrobe.

As many of us know, the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of global carbon emissions and 20% of global wastewater. By rewearing clothes, consumers will significantly reduce the environmental impact of their fashion choices.

We also predict rental fashion will be an even bigger industry! A report by ThredUp found that the online clothing rental market is projected to grow by 10 times in the next 5 years, reaching a total market value of $2.5 billion by 2023.

4. Sustainable and transparent supply chains will be a priority.

The sustainable future of fashion will involve building sustainable and transparent supply chains. This will include ethical sourcing of materials and responsible manufacturing processes, as well as partnering with suppliers and manufacturers who will prioritise sustainability and social responsibility.
